Mr Sandman, bring a dream

Watching people fall asleep on the bus is funny to me. Invariably there's the guy who falls over on his side and out of his seat or the woman who's head nods back and jerks forward. Falling asleep on the bus isn't so funny. I wake up ever two minutes terrified I've missed my stop. The last two days I've fallen asleep on the bus. I've also managed to stay asleep for most of the ride home. Last night I got a total of six hours of sleep. In a row. I have hope that this awful awful insomnia might actually pass in this life time.

Insomnia (you poor thing) but riding the bus seems to be your cure!?

I can't sleep on a bus.. too self-conscious, I guess.

Two months of no more than 5 hours of sleep a night. And not all five hours at once mind you. I think I'm going insane.

Surprisingly, last night I fell asleep pretty quickly at 10, only woke up a few times but went back to sleep quickly, and I had a couple of vivid dreams! I actually got 8 hours of sleep last night! Woo hoo!

Okay you're a smart girl, so I figure you've tried the old "tried and true" remedies? Warm bath with lavender, lavender oil on your pillow, warm milk and honey?
I had horrible insomnia in my 20s. Then I discovered drugs!!! Just kidding, then I had babies and learned to take it where I could get it (sleep that is).
I really feel for you, poor thing.
Valerian is good, and natural. Smells horrible, like a dirty dog.
Have you seen your GP??
Hope it doesn't go on too long.
Happy to read you got eight hours last night!

Yeah, I've seen my doc. There's just no reason for the insomnia. I am doing something new at work that is ridiculously tedious, and I think that might be helping.
