While I am at a loss as to how something like this gets left behind at the Transfer Center, I think I am more baffled why someone is carrying around these two items to begin with. Why would you walk around with a salt shaker and a steak knife? Anyone have any ideas?

They might have finished all the steak, hence, no further use for the shaker and knife?

A guy on my old bus used to ride with a parrot on his shoulder. Strictly speaking, it's not allowed, but nobody dared say anything. That parrot looked mean. If it got out of hand, I suppose one could shake salt in its eyes and, while it was temporarily blinded, stab it!
